Biography

As a hip-hop artist, and experienced live performer, Disco Matt (aka Matt Okine) creates energetic and catchy hip-hop tracks that captivate audiences of all ages, and ensure a live experience that is impossible to forget.

He has appeared at Brisbane's Step Inn (supporting Evil Eddie) and has recently launched his new album to a packed house at the famous Caxton Hotel. He has also performed at Hermann's Bar at the University of Sydney, the Stylin Up festival (with KPS) and Brisbane's Fete De La Musique Festival. As a member of Australia's legendary ManChoir, Matt has also performed at some of Australia's biggest music festivals including Big Day Out (2010) & Playground Weekender (2011).

An experienced stand-up comedian and MC, Matt has appeared on TV shows such as Rove Live, Thursday Night Live, and The Squiz, and has hosted several events including the launch of the Nokia Music Store (where he shared the stage with Kate Miller-Heidke & The Presets), and the Smirnoff “Send-Off” Party as part of their “Nightlife Exchange” Experience. This experience ensures Matt's shows are just as unique and exciting between songs are they are mid-chorus.
